Nonna’s Pasta has announced it will permanently drop anchor at Deansgate Square. The American-Italian restaurant and bar originally launched in Manchester City centre’s most moneyed neighbourhood as a temporary pop up but residents have knocked back so much rigatoni all vodka that the brand has decided to stick around.

A new menu has been concocted to celebrate the news. New additions include lobster carbonara, Papa’s Pasta – a slow braised short rib ragu pappardelle with truffle and mushroom, and a pesto infused burrata.

The menu also features some eyebrow raising sharing options including Lasagne Spirali, which is an intriguing sounding baked, spiralled lasagne for two people to share, and a tear and share garlic bread with melted mozzarella for that ultimate cheese pull.

There’s also the alarmingly named Chicken Ate The Pizza – a chicken parmo by any other name – with buttermilk fried chicken coated in marinara sauce and topped with melted mozzarella and pesto.

If the name of that dish has made you rethink your dietary choices, there are vegan options too including a vegan pesto infused ‘burrata’, pomodoro pasta, and a creamy pesto linguine.

This week will also see the launch of a new cocktail menu featuring £6 negronis all week as well as a retro Tequila Sunset and a peachy cocktail called Peach Please.
