San Carlo has transformed the terrace at its Alderley Edge restaurant into a dedicated Winter Garden, introducing festoon lighting, Christmas trees, heaters, blankets and a covered structure designed to extend outdoor dining through the colder months.
The space functions as an al fresco extension of the restaurant and is intended to offer a welcoming setting for festive gatherings.
A seasonal chalet menu accompanies the launch, serving freshly made waffles, soft-serve ice cream and a selection of winter drinks. Hot chocolate topped with cream and marshmallows, Baileys hot chocolate, classic mulled wine and Italian amber lager all appear on the menu, served in limited-edition festive cups.

The development of the Winter Garden marks the latest chapter in San Carlo’s growth since the family-run group began in Birmingham in 1992.
Founded by Carlo Distefano, who arrived in the UK from Sicily in 1962, the business has expanded steadily over three decades, building a reputation for independent operation, Italian seasonal produce and a commitment to traditional hospitality.
As well as its branches in Manchester, it also has outposts in Liverpool, London, Bristol, Leicester and Leeds in the UK and across the Middle East, including locations in Qatar, Bahrain and Riyadh.
