After a very successful launch in Didsbury in January, sushi specialists Zumuku have this week launched their fantastic Lunch Deal in Wilmslow, offering up 2 courses for just £12.95.
Available Monday to Friday, 12pm til 5pm, the menu features some tremendous dishes, and we went down a few weeks back to try some of them out.
For starters, we went for the Teriyaki Chicken Skewers. The marinated chicken is covered in a rich teriyaki sauce, making the dish one to remember.
For the veggies we would highly recommend the Vegetable Gyoza – a crispy fried mixed vegetable dumpling served with a gyoza dip. There’s also a Chicken Gyoza on offer – which are a must if you’re a meat eater.
Also available on the starters is the classic Edamame Beans, and traditional Miso Soup made with dashi stock, miso, tofu, seaweed and spring onions.
For the mains we opted for the classic Chicken Katsu Curry; a breadcrumb chicken breast covered in a rich Java curry sauce served with a portion of Japanese rice. It’s also available ‘Plant-Powered‘ as a vegan option too!
The Chili Chicken Maki Udon impressed us with its generous serving of spicy Japanese noodles. Mixed in the dish were phenomenal wok-fried chicken bites and tasty veggies, topped with yakisoba sauce and a final sprinkling of aonori flake. Again, you can have this ‘Plant Powered’ vegan friendly.
There’s also Chicken or Salmon Teriyaki on the menu, glazed meat and fish with a teriyaki sauce, Japanese rice, pink pickled ginger and an Asian salad.
To seal the deal we had a delicious serving of the Chocolate and Strawberry Cheesecake Mochi – a traditional Japanese rice cake made of mochigome, filled with a sweet creamy centre. There’s also an excellent ‘Japanese Finger’ – a matcha jaconda biscuit base, coconut and passionfruit compote, yuzu mousse, and matcha green tea ice cream.
Also on offer is a Yuzu Souffle served with yuzu sorbet, and a Triple Chocolate Brownie – pure decadent chocolate heaven.
This lunch deal runs exclusively at the Wilmslow restaurant from Monday to Friday, 12pm – 5pm.
