Shalamar @ The O2 Ritz
Tuesday 27th November
Legends of soul, disco, afros, funk and body popping, Shalamar reached the peak of their powers throughout the 70’s and 80’s with hits like ‘I Can Make You Feel Good’ and ‘A Night To Remember’. I can imagine it’s going to be a proper top party at The Ritz this Tuesday.

Robert Finley @ Band On The Wall
Wednesday 28th November
Another R&B legend, Robert Finley will be heading to Band on the Wall this Wednesday and even though he’s pushing 70 he’s still got a voice like butter and songs that will ping the knickers off even the most frigid audience member.

Calpurnia @ Manchester Academy
Wednesday 28th November
I’ve just had a Spotify listen to Calpurnia and they remind me a bit of those bands that were knocking about around 2010 who’s songs made you feel like you were in LA in the height of Summer. Think MGMT and Empire of the Sun. That lad out of Stranger Things is the lead singer too.

Pete Tong presents Ibiza Classics @ Manchester Arena
Thursday 29th November
Pete Tong will be bringing his many years’ service on the White Isle directly to Manchester Arena this week with a massive concert with The Heritage Orchestra which should hopefully transport you right back to Ocean Beach except without Wayne Lineker and pink eye.

Star Wars: A New Hope Live in Concert @ Manchester Arena
Saturday 1st December
Is this a gig? Yeah because there is a full orchestra playing John Williams’ legendary score from A New Hope – the first film in the Star Wars saga. Well, chronologically it’s not the first, but I mean in terms of when it came out. 1977 if you don’t know.

Young Fathers @ Albert Hall
Sunday 2nd December
This Scottish 3 piece rap band have been touring and recording for the last 10 years now and even won a Mercury Prize a few years back for their album ‘Dead’. They’ll be hitting up the stunning Albert Hall this Sunday – it’s got to be better than watching Heartbeat surely?

Katie Melua @ The Lowry
Sunday 2nd December
As part of her extensive European tour, Katie Melua will be heading to The Lowry this Sunday with members of the Gori Women’s Choir joining her on stage too. Should be a good ‘un.

The Cardigans @ O2 Apollo
Monday 3rd December
Swedish legends The Cardigans almost managed to knock Ace of Base off the pop top-spot in the 90’s but were let down with a lack of truly brilliant tunes. Sure, ‘Lovefool’ and ‘Burning Down the House’ are good but they’re nowhere near as good as ‘All That She Wants’.
