English rock outfit Basement have been announced as headliners of the festival. Their melodic grunge influenced rock songs bring to mind a kind of ’90s D.I.Y. sound, perfect for a summer take-over of Manchester Academy. Since abruptly announcing an indefinite hiatus only weeks after the release of 2012’s breakthrough LP “Colourmeinkindness”, the band have gained a devoted following. The record has since gone on to sell over 25,000 copies worldwide. In 2014, the band found time amongst other obligations to write and record the EP “Further Sky”. Immediately inspired by the creative chemistry they felt, Basement were ready to work on something more significant.

Basement have shared glimpses of studio time via social media, confirming they’re recording their next full length album this year so fingers crossed for a preview of the new tracks at Beyond Fest.

Alongside Basement, the likes of Arcane Roots, Slotface, Holding Absence, Grumble Bee, Milestones, Bitch Falcon and GroundCulture have also been announced, plus many more to come. Find out the second wave of bands on the 11th of June – follow @manchesteracademy on Instagram to be the first to hear who’s been added to the line up.

Tickets are on sale now at only £25 and grant you access all day to the stages and the merchandise hall… you know what to do!
