Starting off as part of Stockport’s burgeoning Underbank scene, The Norah Store has grown into a huge online boutique store featuring some of the most sought after sustainable brands.

After moving onto a predominantly online platform a couple of years ago, the team behind the concept have now announced a brand-new in person pop-up launching in the heart of Northern Quarter in early September.

Opening as part of Oklahoma on High Street, the city’s Aladdin’s Cave of homeware treasures, The Norah Store will continue its focus on slow fashion, only stocking exclusive vintage pieces and sustainable brands, alongside accessories, homeware and skincare that have been carefully sourced by owner, Elizabeth Morgan.

Speaking of the opening, she said: “The Norah Store started off as a platform of curated goods from independent brands, designers and artists, so you can invest with a conscience in timeless pieces that will be key to your wardrobe.

“Fast fashion is not found here, instead encouraging the alternative of ‘Live Fast, Shop Slow’. Sustainability and ethical production is factored into all the female-led and minority-led brands that are stocked and sourced. From makers using small supply chains in their own countries, to an artist making products in their home studios.”

Across its years of operation, from Depop side business to full-time fashion retreat, The Norah Store has attracted a high profile fan base of both TV personalities and influencers, including Sex Education’s Aimee Lou Wood, celebrity make-up artist Katie Jane Hughes and fashion influencer Chloe Plumstead.

The store is committed to discovering clothes, accessories and lifestyle products that encourage a more mindful way of shopping. By curating a collection of kitsch and colourful treasures with modern takes on mid-century it gives a nod to the vintage roots of the store’s humble beginnings.

The store will also be welcoming Miista shoes, an exclusive to The Norah store in Manchester, alongside Intentionally Blank and Mundaka Studio two more exclusives that are only available to purchase in the UK at The Norah Store.

The brand-new pop up is hoping to officially open its doors at the start of September, with an official launch party taking place from 6pm – 8pm on Thursday 15th September. In true Norah style, the store has also enlisted the help of a couple of fellow Manchester independents on the evening, as glasses of natural wine will be provided by KERB and Siop Siop will bake a range of tasty treats.

Manchester-based indie disco legends, The Orielles are taking over the decks all evening, too, as Elizabeth and her team offer bespoke styling advice, more information on the store’s incredible brands and 10% OFF all evening long!

The Norah Store will then be open seven days a week, 10am – 5pm Sunday – Friday and 10am – 6pm Saturday.
