Co-founded by Hjalmar Nilsonne and Daniel Ek (founder of some music streaming concern by the name of Spotify), Neko Health have opened a state-of-the-art health centre in Lincoln Square, just off Deansgate.

In under an hour, the check uses AI to map millions of health data points on your body, both inside and out.

It checks moles across the body, symptoms of metabolic syndrome and risk factors for stroke and heart attack, along with blood fats and blood sugar levels to assess pre-diabetes risk. Additionally, it checks for skin cancer and blood abnormalities.

The check – which is non-invasive – costs £299, and includes a consultation with a doctor afterwards, who talks you through your results and advises on any next steps.

The facility, located between Albert Square and Deansgate in the City Centre, is deliberately designed to feel calming and restorative. Nilsonne explains that they wanted to be the opposite of traditional, anxiety-filled health experiences.

“For the vast majority of people, health is something you feel worried about a lot of the time”, whereas, Neko feels that “health appointment should be something you look forward to, very human and inspiring” he says.

Speaking about their approach, Nilsonne said “Neko has developed from the ground up a new approach to assessing health and medical diagnostics”.

The service has already proved to be extremely popular globally, with over 100,000 people on the waitlist globally.

Neko Health Manchester opens Wednesday 10 September.
