Bab, the elevated kebab joint in the Northern Quarter, has opened a new bar in its basement.

Billed as a ‘dining space by day and party destination by night, expect a cosy and casual downstairs space with a welcoming Manc atmosphere’, say the place’s owners.

The new space, beneath Stevenson Square, has a DJ booth for parties, space for 150 people, and it will be bookable for private events too.

As well as the new bar, there will be a new menu too, including Turkish inspired ‘islak’ burgers with spicy tomato sauce, nacho crispy chicken, falafel burgers, rice and salad bowls, alongside ‘surf & turf’, souvlaki halloumi, roasted tenderstem and spiced calamari kebabs.

The drinks menu is also getting a revamp, including a Mexican chilli margarita, a caramel espresso martini, a mint choc cooler and a cranberry whiskey sour.

BAB owner Kevin Connor said: “I am delighted to be unveiling BAB’s refurbished space and refreshed menu, which now includes burgers and bowls.

“BAB is very popular amongst Manchester foodies, and our versatile downstairs space will allow us to serve more of the Manchester community. It will also be a great spot for private parties.”
