Manchester institution Piccolino Caffé Grande is set to re-open after an extensive refit and refurbishment.

The beautifully transformed restaurant, which is back open to guests on 23 March, now features all new booth seating, chic new tables and chairs, stunning floral installations, a renovated statement brass ceiling and a decadent new bar area.

New decorative flourishes include elegant gold accents offsetting its famous Piccolino duck egg blue colour palette.

Diners in the 250 cover dining room will also be able to observe the restaurant chefs at work in the open kitchen.

Meanwhile, the restaurant’s private dining room has also had a makeover, catering to up to 40 seated guests, or 80 standing.

“Piccolino Caffé Grande is truly an iconic institution in Manchester’s vibrant hospitality scene and has been the go-to for authentic Italian dining for two decades,” said Andrew Garton, CEO of Individual Restaurants.

“It’s our intention to be the most sought-after restaurant for the finest Italian cuisine in the most elegant setting with the greatest hospitality for decades to come and the latest refurbishment reaffirms our commitment to delivering that.”

Piccolino Caffé Grande has been serving the city for 23 years, first opening in 2001 opposite the Town Hall on Albert Square.

Piccolino is owned by Individual Restaurants, which has 31 restaurants nationwide, including Riva Blu, Restaurant Bar & Grill and Piccolo by Piccolino, and has also launched an exclusive new loyalty scheme, called Club IR.

Those signed up to the scheme enjoy 15% off dining on a Monday and Tuesday, as well as 50% off wine and champagne every Wednesday, personalised offers and money-can’t-buy experiences across three tiers of loyalty.
