Urban Playground, the Manchester Arndale entertainment venue that’s home to mini golf, arcade games and loads of food and drink, has added three new games to its The Cube Live experience, and you’ll recognise them all from the telly.
Shaking things up a bit ahead of the party season (did someone say office Christmas party?), you can play ‘Pass’, ‘Exit’ and ‘Locate’, three nail-bitingly tense games that have challenged the likes of Greg Rutherford, Rob Beckett and Gabrielle Union on the US and UK versions of the show.
In ‘Pass’, two players have to rapidly weave a foam brick back and forth between free-standing poles, avoiding knocking the poles over as they go. It requires agility and great communication.
As does ‘Exit’, where two players work together to move a maze to free the ball – this one is a huge test of patience and timing. Locate is a single player game, where players must remember an illuminated patch of the cube’s layout, and relocate it with a blindfold on. They’re all deceptively straightforward and fiendishly addictive.
We reckon it’s great for a team day out (in fact, we’ve done a few of our own Manchester’s Finest socials at Urban Playground). Just make sure the friendly competition stays friendly.
